Bachelor of Science

The accelerated bachelor’s degree in Interdisciplinary Studies gives students the flexibility to develop an integrated course of study by combining the coursework from two academic disciplines. Areas of study currently available for acceleration in the interdisciplinary format are Business Management, Information Systems, Legal Studies, Psychology, and Criminal Justice.*

Interdisciplinary Studies is an individually designed major that allows students to work closely and consult with at least two faculty members with interests and expertise in the desired areas of study. The program director and student jointly develop a course of study that requires a depth of knowledge and an interdisciplinary approach to the focus of study the student selects.

The Interdisciplinary Studies degree program offers a great deal of flexibility. It enables students to:

  • Work closely with faculty to pursue academic interests that transcend traditional majors
  • Link previous college experience with special areas of expertise or interest
  • Create an individualized degree completion program to strengthen professional or personal skills.
  • Achieve a bachelor’s degree for career advancement or personal satisfaction
  • Become an expert in a new area
  • Combine special personal interests
  • Accomplish lifetime goals to pursue new learning or complete a degree

The accelerated bachelor’s degree in Interdisciplinary Studies may be completed in two years depending on the number of credits transferred into the program and the number of courses taken during the academic year. Stevenson University will accept up to 90 credits from a regionally accredited four-year institution and 70 credits from a regionally accredited two-year institution. Accelerated courses are either online or are scheduled to meet once a week on weekday evenings and Saturdays, in five or eight-week sessions. This program integrates 36 credits (18 from each of the two chosen areas of study) plus additional coursework to satisfy college/degree requirements.

*All Criminal Justice classes will be 8 week, online classes.
